About Our Choir Members

Mosaic Harmony includes the traditional four vocal parts: Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass. We are a family in many respects. In fact, the choir includes several families with multiple choir members, as well as some who work together in their professions. Eventually, we may actually learn what folks do for a living, but—most refreshing for this area—that is not topic number one. Who are we? People who truly enjoy singing great music, creativity, and each other, people who recognize the power of unity in the midst of diversity, and the work of the Spirit in us all.

All sections have a great variety of singers, from young to old, different backgrounds and cultures, vocations and careers, from professionals to stay at home mothers and retirees to high schoolers. In this mosaic of differences we find harmony in singing together.

Auditions and ability to read music is not required to become a member.

Sopranos
These 25 high pitched divas for the most part, carry the melody of the song and occasionally provide the harmony but have also been known to just carry on, having way too much fun! Included in this group are college professors, technicians, healthcare providers, telecommunications project manager, homemakers, consultants and professional life coaches.

Altos
These deep divas consist of over 35 singers who project harmony and alto power. You can meet an state appeals court judge, a lawyer, a 15-time published novelist, linguist, massage therapist, event planner, grandmothers, technical writer, a cross-stitching Medievalist, a realtor and retirees.

Tenors
No, we don’t have Pavarotti, Domingo, and Carras, but our 18 tenors, both men and women do include an Italian or two. Additionally, they boast having a 20-time Marine Corps marathoner, a singer/songwriter, real estate wizards, painters and programmers, a graphics arts professional, sound engineer and a couple of grandmothers. There are several tenors-with-tenure who are among the founding MoHa members.

Basses
We are grounded by a dozen or so “Bad Boyz” basses, which include a father and son, a psychotherapist, a bodywork therapist, a corporate trainer, college professors, civilian and Navy systems analyst-managers and insurance claims adjuster. They are the backbone of our sound and are the high-energy movers of the choir risers and sound equipment plus they “clean up real nice” in tuxedos!
